A desktop app by Opsmith

Firstlight

Turn long game recordings into short vertical clips — without sending the session away.

From a session to the moments worth keeping.

Record while you play

Firstlight drives OBS through obs-websocket to record multi-track audio. Press F9 to drop markers as the session happens.

Find the take

Afterward, it reads audio energy, your markers, and chat activity when you import a chat log to propose clip-worthy moments.

Keep the work local

Transcription and scoring run on your own machine with Ollama and sherpa-onnx/Parakeet. Recordings are never uploaded for analysis.

Make the clip yours.

Trim the take, auto-reframe it to vertical, and add captions with presets. Build it out with layouts, a brand watermark, opener and closer scenes, music and SFX, speed ramps, montages, and export presets.

Posting today: Firstlight can post finished clips to a Discord channel through a webhook. It can also link YouTube and TikTok accounts.

What is not connected yet: Direct upload scheduling to YouTube and TikTok is not connected in the current build. Account linking is supported today; posting arrives in a later release.

Privacy is the spine.

Your recordings, transcripts, AI analysis, and credentials stay on your computer. Tokens live in Windows Credential Manager. Nothing is sent anywhere you have not explicitly linked.

How linking works

When you link YouTube, Firstlight opens Google’s own consent page in your system browser and receives the reply on a private loopback callback.

It requests only https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload and stores the refresh token locally in Windows Credential Manager.
